Mode 1.2.8 adds live canvas thumbnails to the dashboard, keeps project details current, and gives coding agents clearer selected-element context.
Dashboard cards now show screenshots of the actual canvas content, including images, fonts, and portals. Thumbnails refresh as the canvas changes and fall back gracefully while a new preview is still warming up.
When you ask a coding agent to change a selected element, Mode now includes its full details so the edit lands more reliably on the intended part of the interface.
Keep dashboard details current: Canvas names update everywhere immediately after a rename, and the last-updated time now reflects both canvas and code changes.
Cleaner preview feedback: Portals have a clear border, loading uses a compact spinner, and new previews retry while their first render is warming up.
Links work again inside shared preview pages.
space-between gaps stay intact when you begin dragging an element.
Closing the preview no longer loses portal border or dock state, and the page no longer hijacks scrolling after loading.

Mode 1.2.7 restores missing fonts, expands Next.js import compatibility, and keeps preview controls where you left them.
Canvases affected by incomplete font uploads now recover those fonts from the live product when possible, so captured designs render as intended instead of falling back to defaults.
Projects that export their Next.js configuration as a function now import correctly. If Mode cannot apply its preview support, the project runs without that support instead of failing the entire import.
Keep your preferred preview tool: The preview dock remembers whether you were using select or interact mode. Press V to switch between them, alongside the existing keyboard shortcuts.
Duplicate security headers no longer cause browsers to reject assets inside previews.
Elements dropped onto pages now land in the expected position, and moving them on or off a page no longer leaves stale placement behind.

Mode 1.2.4 through 1.2.6 expand preview compatibility for customer applications with strict security policies and Next.js Server Actions.
Apps with strict Content Security Policies can now load and remain selectable in Mode previews. This includes projects that use nonce- or hash-based rules and applications that send multiple policy headers.
Forms and interactions backed by Next.js Server Actions now work through the preview browser. Actions receive the expected request origin while the rest of the application keeps its normal behavior.
Scrolling with a mouse no longer leaves stray scrollbars on the canvas.

Mode 1.2.3 keeps agent conversations connected to their history and canvas context, even when the backend restarts or the design itself changes.
Agent sessions now reload their complete conversation after a deploy or backend restart. The agent retains what you discussed, which element the thread concerns, and the context needed to continue the work.
An agent chat no longer breaks when its original canvas element is replaced or removed during a redesign. Mode reconnects the conversation to the replacement element or reopens it at its last saved position.
Keep the agents bar tidy: Completed runs you have already reviewed retire from the roster, while the remaining agent controls stay visible and stable.
Cleaner canvas loading: The canvas loading indicator is now more compact.

Mode 1.2.2 makes agent failures visible and recoverable, ensures stopped work cleans up safely, and makes preview navigation easier to follow.
When an agent turn fails, the thread now shows a clear error with a Retry button instead of going silent. Retrying continues from the saved conversation history, while turns you stopped yourself remain clearly distinguished.
Stopping an agent now shows a finishing state and reliably closes the turn. If a failed or stopped turn made incomplete file edits, Mode rolls them back so your project is not left halfway through a change.
Follow preview navigation: A loading bar now shows progress as you move between pages in the preview browser, including navigation inside single-page apps, without flashing unnecessarily when you are already on the same page.
Captured images and fonts remain available instead of pointing to temporary addresses that later stop working.
Resumed agent sessions retain their original conversation context, app details, and design guidance.
The removed Assets tab stays removed, and small icons display correctly in agent threads.

Mode 1.1.12 makes captures easier to confirm and locate, speeds up design tasks, and fixes a design-panel lockup.
Captured elements and pages now highlight as they are created, and the canvas moves to show the new capture. You can confirm that the action worked and find the result without searching around the canvas.
Dismiss notifications sooner: Click or swipe notification toasts away when you are finished with them, with smoother exit timing.
Faster design-task starts: Agents can begin editing sooner because the relevant files are ready when a design task starts.
The design panel remains responsive after dragging a control to its minimum or maximum value.

Mode 1.1.9 keeps bold, italic, links, line breaks, and nested text intact when turning canvas designs into code.
Generated code now preserves formatting inside text blocks instead of flattening everything to plain text. Bold and italic text use semantic elements, links remain functional, styled text receives the appropriate classes, hard line breaks are retained, and nested inline elements are no longer dropped.
Canvas overlays now use the correct stacking order.
Tailwind tokens without a property group now resolve correctly.
Corrected a label mapping that could apply the wrong display value during code generation.

Mode 1.1.8 fixes a GitHub connection issue that could send users back to the login screen and helps canvas agents avoid unnecessary component searches.
Completing the GitHub App connection no longer logs you out of Mode. The completion window now closes without interrupting the session in your main window, so you can return directly to your project.
Faster work without a component library: Canvas agents now know when no design-system components are available and skip unavailable catalog lookups, reducing wasted steps and starting work sooner.

Mode 1.1.7 adds voice input to the composer, brings first-class CSS grid controls to the editor, and makes GitHub connections much more resilient.
Use the new microphone button or press ⌘⇧D to dictate a prompt. Mode shows a live recording visualization and places the transcript directly into the composer. Permission problems recover without a reload, and clear messages explain microphone errors when they occur.
CSS grid layouts are now first-class in the design panel and on the canvas. Configure grid templates and auto-flow, switch between layout types, and drag elements into or within a grid while Mode places them correctly. The canvas overlay clearly shows grid selection and editing states, including layouts built with values such as repeat() and minmax().
Reinstalling the GitHub App now restores affected repositories and integrations instead of leaving projects disconnected. Mode prevents duplicate integrations, recovers from missed webhooks and temporary network failures, shows integration errors in the UI, and provides the correct reinstall path when a repository is removed.
Find a snapshot's source: Elements inside snapshots now include an origin control that reveals the source element in the live portal, scrolls it into view, and briefly highlights it.
Explore mode by default: New composer conversations now start in Explore mode.
Open explorations in a new tab: Explorations use a normal browser tab instead of a popup and no longer appear far away from the active canvas area.
Dragging color, border-radius, and other design-panel controls no longer gets stuck or makes their handles disappear.
Text alignment works correctly, redundant tooltips have been removed, and the margin handle is positioned properly.
Native select elements now render correctly inside snapshots.
Additional pointer interactions and dialog visuals have been polished.

Mode 1.1.6 lets you watch agent designs appear as they are created, while improving stability for heavier projects and longer-running work.
Design elements now appear on the canvas one by one while the agent is still generating. Each working agent has a colored cursor that moves to the element it is about to change, highlights the active area, and leaves a brief pulse when the step is complete.
If part of a streamed design fails, the elements already placed remain on the canvas and the agent knows what landed, so it can continue or repair the incomplete work instead of starting over.
Build mode by default: New conversations start in Build mode, and you can switch between Explore and Build while a reply is streaming.
Clearer conversation controls: A new action clears chat history, and the changes indicator stays hidden until a conversation contains changes to review.
More consistent canvas states: Selected elements stay blue in Build mode, while green is reserved for an element that is armed for picking.
Smoother working feedback: Friendlier composer copy, an animated working indicator, and tidier thread spacing make active conversations easier to follow.
More stable project startup: Projects no longer run continuous TypeScript checking when the sandbox starts, leaving more resources available for previews and imports on heavier codebases.
Long agent turns finish correctly: Healthy turns can continue beyond five minutes as long as they remain active. Truly stalled turns stop cleanly with partial work preserved, and dead sandboxes fail faster instead of holding the turn open.
